Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, indicated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Interim Budget, which was delivered on February 1, intends to offer direction for the country for the next five years without any pre-election bonanza.

In an exclusive interview with Times Now's Navika Kumar, Sitharaman highlighted that the interim budget was intended for direction-setting rather than elections. She highlighted that there will be no major announcements in the interim budget.

Sitharaman remarked that people's hopes will be met when the new administration releases its budget in July.

The Union Finance Minister's interim budget emphasized the government's efforts to lift 25 crore people out of poverty, particularly direct welfare payments.
